DIARY OF A WIMPY KID

Diary of a Wimpy Kid is a realistic fiction novel by Jeff Kinney. It is the first book in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, based on a webcomic at Funbrain. A film of the same name was released on March 19, 2010. It stars Zachary Gordon as Greg Heffley and Robert Capron as Rowley Jefferson. The books focuses on Greg's life as he enters middle school and facing many hardships with his dysfunctional family, best friend Rowley Jefferson, and the moldy cheese out on the blacktop of Greg's school. ^[2]

The book opens with Greg Heffley saying how bad his life is, with middle school, and his dysfunctional family, and his best friend Rowley Jefferson, whom Greg worries about, and the moldy cheese out of the blacktop, telling once, a kid named Darren Walsh touched it, and it started a link called the "Cheese Touch."
Greg faces many hardships, including Halloween. As Greg and Rowley, go Trick-or-Treating, teenagers chase them and they barely escape when they get to Greg's grandma's house and make monkey noises at them its all good until they get home and Greg's dad throws water at them and water soaks their candy
The Wizard of Oz play^[3] is also a hardship for Greg, Patty Farell, who does Dorothy, is coming on stage, and since Greg is a Tree, he thinks he can throw an apple at her,but the director takes it out for safety.And Mrs. Norton, the music director, made the Trees sing.
Greg and Rowley's friendship is starting to fall apart. Greg invents a game where one person would throw a football to make the other fall off the Big Wheel, A gift Rowley got for Christmas, however when Rowley falls off ,he breaks his arm. Greg is jealous of the attention Rowley is getting. Rowley is also framed for scaring kindergardeners, when it was Greg wearing Rowley's coat. When Greg confesses, Greg is kicked out, and Rowley is promoted. Rowley also declares himself the owner of a comic strip, Zoo-Wee-Mama, that was created by Greg and Rowley, but Greg drops out to make his own comic strip. The two stop being friends.
Greg and Rowley get into a fight at the blacktop, when the teenagers from Halloween come, and grab Greg and Rowley. They make Rowley eat the cheese, and are to make Greg do it too, but Greg finds a way out. When they go away, when people notice the cheese is gone Greg lies and says he threw it away this gives Greg the Cheese Touch. Greg and Rowley becomes friends again, and Greg even says the good advantages of having the Cheese Touch.}

DIARY OF A WIMPY KID UGLY TRUTH

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Ugly Truth, written by American author and cartoonist Jeff Kinney, is the fifth book in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series.^[1] It was released on November 9, 2010.^[1]

^{It has been four weeks since Greg Heffley had a big fight with his ex-best-friend, Rowley Jefferson. Then he finds out that Rowley's parents found a replacement best friend: a hired role-model from a company.
Greg attempts to get popularity points at school with a textbook that was previously owned by Jordan Jury, the most popular student in the grade above Greg's. He also posts edited photos on the Internet in an attempt to try and convince others that he has a fun life (which he doesn't) .
Greg then attempts to audition for a local ice cream advertisement for an ice cream company. Greg fails his audition due to him being too old for the part of a 3-6 year old. Greg then explains how he is discriminated because of his age by his own family, stating he was the center of attention when he was younger and is now disliked and ignored due to Manny, his younger brother.
Greg is then informed that his Uncle Gary will marry for the third time, and when his wedding comes, Greg will have "The talk" with his great-grandmother Gammie, a polite but sly and clever old woman.
Susan Heffley, Greg's mother, announces that she will be going back to school for a few months in order to stimulate her mind. As a result, the Heffley men must take care of themselves, and most stability falls apart. Food is often ruined, and Frank Heffley, Greg's father, sprains his ankle, when they try to go out to eat. As Susan usually does the chores around the house, Greg is left with little clean clothes to wear then Greg complains "It should be illegal for a boy to have to clean his mothers underwear". Greg also complains that he must take more time to do his homework, since Susan often helps in in the way of giving him all the answers, and his father, Frank Heffley, makes him do the work on his own and helping very little. Greg is also given the responsibility of waking himself up. He tries a better alarm clock than his older one, which didn't work, a wind-up clock. Thinking the ticking of it was a bomb, he got no sleep. As a result, Greg accidentally set off the fire alarm at school in his sleep-deprived state, but manages not to get caught.
Greg faces more misfortunes, such as facing a serious, ill-tempered, paranoid dentist (Dr. Kagan) instead of going to a fun dentist center where Greg has a crush on one of the hygienists there, failing a high-grade Health class assignment, where he must take care of an egg like it is a baby, and dealing with an extremely lazy maidcalled Isabella who Susan hired to clean the house who refuses to do Greg's laundry, hogs the TV, and takes naps in Greg's bed (until Susan discovers her laziness when she catches her and all the maids in the neighbourhood watching TV and not doing anything what she was hired to do and fires her. She said Isabella's services would "no longer be required").
At school, a "Lock-In" is organized where boys and girls Greg's age have a supervised slumber party in the school auditorium. It turns out to be a disaster, in which there are nearly no girls, excess amounts of chaperones, all technology is confiscated, boring and risky party games, an incident where the chaperones think one of Greg's team members of a game photographed their buttocks, and a freezing cold night in which the chaperones intentionally turned off the heater and switched on theair conditioner to keep the misbehaving boys in their beds. At 3:00am angry parents were pounding on the door because they had phoned their kids to check if they were ok, and all the phones had been confiscated.
Rowley comes to school with a large pimple on his forehead and thinks that just because he has it, it makes him cool. This makes Greg wonder about his growth spurt. They are then both invited to one of Jordan Jury's notoriously wild parties, in which many girls come. Unfortunately for Greg, the party takes place on the same day as his Uncle Gary's wedding. Greg is humiliated and bored at the wedding, and then receives "The Talk" from Gammie. Gammie explains to Greg the stress and horrors of becoming and being an adult both physically and mentally, which causes Greg to enjoy his late childhood for now.
At this point, Greg's mother Susan stops going to college for now and returns to the family, much to Greg's delight. Greg also decided to make the first move and mends his friendship with his ex-best friend Rowley, and the two became friends again}

DIARY OF A WIMPY KID DOG DAYS

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days is a realistic fiction novel written by American author and cartoonist Jeff Kinney, the fourth book in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series^[1] It was released on October 12, 2009 in the USA and October 13, 2009 in Canada. The book continues right after the previous book, The Last Straw, and is about Greg's summer vaction. A film of the same name is currently in production and will be released on August 3, 2012

The book opens describing Greg's worst summer ever beginning with Greg Heffley and Rowley Jefferson going to Rowley's country club after school closes for the summer, but Greg is kicked out because he complained of even the smallest predicaments. Then the beach trip that he was looking forward to is canceled because the Heffleys don't have any money; the Heffleys resort to going to the town pool, which Greg dislikes because of its open showers showing large, hairy men.

Later, Greg and Rowley have a sleepover together, and watch a horror movie taken from Rodrick's room. After the movie, Greg and Rowley soon became paranoid on account of a muddy hand that might kill them, which was in the movie. Soon, Susan starts a reading club in which Greg is the only participant after two days, because she found out about Greg watching the horror movie. The reading program, however, is put to a stop when Mr. Jefferson arrives with a huge bill that Greg and Rowley spent on fruit smoothies at the country club, and he forces Greg and Rowley to pay it off.

Greg and Rowley decide to do a lawn care service to pay the debt, but they can only make one flyer after Mr. Jefferson told them they cannot use his computer. Their first customer is Mrs. Canfield, who lives on Greg's grandmother's street. Unfortunately, the job ended as a fiasco when the boys never used a lawn mower before. When Greg tells Rowley he has to do most of the work while Greg counts the money, that made Rowley annoyed and he quits. Greg mows Mrs. Canfield's lawn by himself, but she refuses to pay him because he didn't mow all of her lawn. The money is paid off, however, when Susan convenstates Greg's money earned at his birthday

The Jeffersons later invite Greg to go to the beach with them, which is where Greg had wanted to go, but he realizes it wasn't what he expected, where he begins to have a breakdown from no electronics, almost got jumped by teenagers he pulled a prank on, and especially the Cranium Shaker, a ride Greg really wanted to go on, however it makes him sick. The first night Rowley and Greg both refuse to sleep on the nasty floor, so Greg tries to sleep under Rowley. Greg tries to entertain himself, but he is sent home after he snaps a rubber band at Rowley.

Susan later tries to get Greg's dad and Greg together, but both of them realize that they should keep their distance. She even got them tickets for a baseball game, but Greg thought Frank was trying to get rid of him for the incident that happened earlier, and calls the police on him using his Ladybug, (A birthday gift that Greg got earlier) only embarrassed to discover the truth, Sweetie (The Heffley Dog Frank brought earlier in the book) is to be given to Greg's grandmother for company after her old dog Henry died. To get out of the game they gave the two cops their tickets. However, they both hate much of the same things, such as a comic named Li’l Cutie, where the writer has retired and passed it on to his son and has made the comic even worse. The book ends with Greg looking in Susan's album, titled "Best Summer Ever", which is an inaccurate record of Greg's summer, but he says that the person who takes the pictures is the one who gets to tell the story.

DIARY OF A WIMPY KID THE LAST STRAW

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw is a novel written by American author and cartoonist Jeff Kinney, the third book in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. The book acts as a journal and follows the adventures of Greg Heffley, the narrator of the book, who is in the second half of his seventh grade year.^[2] The title comes from the threat of military school to toughen Greg up. This book was released on January 13, 2009 in the USA

As a continuation of the second book, this novel rounds out the second semester of Greg's seventh grade school year.

The book starts with Greg's New Year's Day. The follow-up is Greg's Christmas, which is similar to Christmas in the first book. Greg gets nothing he likes from anyone. Uncle Charlie gives Greg a "laundry hoop" and Greg's mother, inspired, starts making Greg do his own laundry. Due to Greg's laziness, he does not do his laundry and does not plan to either. This plays a significant role later in the story.

Mentioned early in the story, Greg's father is becoming tired with Greg's "wimpy" ways. Also, the "worst teenager on our street", Lenwood Heath gets shipped out to military school, sparking an idea in Frank's head that plays a huge role in the story. Later, the Heffleys see Lenwood at a ticket booth with a crew cut, proper and incredibly polite. This causes Frank to decide to enroll Greg into military school, Spag Union, which takes place during Greg's summer vacation. Greg tries in vain to change his father's mind, such as doing activities such as soccer and Boy Scouts. However, they do not work. Therefore, Greg tries to impress Holly again, but it does not work at all. Finally, he settles for the sad fact he has to settle for Spag Union. But his summer won't be bad if he took some memories with him.

One day, his dad finds Manny's old blanket, Tingy, and throws it away. Manny gets revenge when he uses his dad's Civil War battlefield as a play set. Then Manny walks up to Greg and says "Ploopy!" Greg doesn't know what it means, so he asks his mom, but she's talking on the phone. She says, "What is a ploopy?!" which was the exact thing Greg wanted to know. Then Manny starts calling Greg "ploopy" to get whatever he wants.

On Easter Sunday, Greg gets in the car, accidentally sitting on Manny's chocolate Easter bunny. He gets out of the car with chocolate on the back of his pants. His Mom then says that the family cannot skip church. When Rodrick takes off his pants and says "He can wear MY pants," Mom gives Greg her Easter sweater to tie around his waist. During Easter church service, he looks at Manny, who is playing with the things Mom and Dad brought to entertain him, and then thinks about the day when Manny threw a fit at daycare when his mom cut his sandwich in half, not in quarters the way he likes it. Mom had to drive all the way there to make the extra slice. Then he whispers in Manny's ear, "Ploopy!" Manny starts crying and Mom can't calm him down, so they have to go home.

Also mentioned earlier in the story, the Heffley's neighbors, the Snellas, are having a half-birthday for their youngest child Seth. During the party, the adults in the neighborhood have to perform silly acts and Mr. Snella sends the videotapes to America's Funniest Families, a spoof of America's Funniest Home Videos, to win the $10,000 prize. It is revealed that Frank hates the performing and will do anything to get out of it. On the day of the party, Manny throws Seth's present into a tree because he knows that Greg would snatch it away. It is a blue knit blanket, like Tingy in it's early stages. When Greg goes and retrieves it, his pants, borrowed from Rodrick, fall down revealing Wonder Woman underwear, which he wore because it was one of the only clean garments he has left. Frank, who happens to be next in line to perform gets away as Mr. Snella points his camera to an embarrassed Greg. He repays Greg the next morning by not sending him to military school, suggesting there are other ways that Greg can stay fit. While Greg enjoys his morning he goes to see Rowley and tells him he didn't have to go to Spag Union after all. Rowley had no idea Greg might have been sent away.

The story ends abruptly as Rowley and Greg are sitting on the curb and meet a girl named Trista. Greg thinks Trista is cute and imagines that she and himself are in Rowley's country club in swimsuits with Rowley serving them drinks. The book ends with Greg saying that it is corny to end with a happy ending, but he is out of paper and writes "The End" in big letters.

DIARY OF WIMPY KID RODRICK RULES

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules is a realistic fiction novel by Jeff Kinney. It is the second book in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series realesed February 1, 2008, and a film of the same name being released March 25, 2011.^[2] Rodrick Rules follows Greg's struggle with getting along with his older brother, Rodrick.

Like Greg's previous year, Greg faces struggles in in his 7th Grade year. One of them is Greg trying to hide a secret that his older brother, Rodrick could reveal. What happens in that situation, is when at Leisure Towers, a senior citizen's retirment home, Rodrick gets a hold of Greg's previous journal, and Greg chases after him. When he gets it, Greg hides in the bathroom and rips out the pages, however he soon realizes that he's in the ladies bathroom. Greg is stuck in there for 45 minutes, and when Greg comes out, Rodrick witnessed the whole thing.

Another struggle is the Winter Talent Show, where Rodrick and his band Loded Diper, could become famous. However, when the day comes, Loded Diper is paired up with Hary Gilbertson, a kindergardener who skates to "Yankee Doddle Dandy". Even when Susan, Greg's mom, videotapes the preformance, she ruins it for Rodrick and Rodrick blames it on Greg, who he first asked to videotape, but Greg denied. In the Winter Talent Show, Greg's best friend Rowley Jefferson, and first grader Scotty Douglas, where origanally going to do a magic act togeter, but since Greg acidentlley broke Rowley's leg at a sleepover, Rowley can't be with Scotty. Susan makes Greg fill in for Scotty, but in try outs, they don't make the cut.

The climax of the book is when Rodrick throws a party, while his parents are out for the night. Rodrick asks Greg to get chairs, but he locks Greg in the basement. Greg agrees to help Rodrick clean up the next morning, when he threatens to spill Greg's secret, however when their parents get home, there's still a tiny bit of evidence from the party, and after Thanksgiving, they find out about the party, and ground both of them, even though Greg had nothing to do with it.

After getting mad at Greg for the Winter Talent Show, Rodrick spills Greg's secret. However, it turns from Greg getting trapped in the ladies bathroom at Leisure Towers, to Greg infiltrating the girl's locker room at Crossland High School. Greg, nicknamed the "Stealthanator", is a school phenomenom with the boys, but not with the girls. The Winter Talent Show becomes one of Rodrick's worst memories, as it has been posted on the Internet, and Lenland wins instead. Lenland was a Doungoen Keeper in a board game called "Magick and Monsters", of which Greg and Rowley attended. Rodrick also has a late science assigment he has to do, or he'll flunk out of school. Greg, however helps Rodrick with the project, because according to Greg, "After all, he is my brother"
